I saw Hot Fuzz at the cinema yesterday, fantastic movie from the crew from Shaun of the Dead. Loved it!! A trailer for 300 caught my eye, (giant screen everyone is watching tends to do that), its loosely based on the story of the Battle of Thermopylae where 300 Spartans (and 700 Thespians) held a small pass against a huge number of Persians, selling their lives unbelievably dearly to allow the Greek army time to retreat and for Athens to muster for the naval battle that won them the war. Now, I say loosely and I mean it. The movie is based on the graphic novel (comic!!) which is based on the story, so it will probably leave historians spinning but graphically it looks incredible and definitely will be one for the boys (my sister saw the trailer and hated it so I'm assuming that will be the general female response) Comes out March 9
